Bamboo Slats

Bamboo Slats are harvested from the outer skin and wall of large diameter bamboo and cut into strips along the length of the pole. Three sides of the bamboo are machine milled while the face side is left natural.

Bamboo Slates work great to disguise joints on decorative mats and boards, borders for chair-rails or wainscot dividers, picture frames, cabinetry trim or mirror frames. Easy to create bar fronts and ceilings also.
  • Bamboo Slats come in a natural shade of honey and stained mahogany.
  • Slats are 1.75" wide x 6' long.

Decorate your walls with Bamboo Slats

Pre-drill a hole in the node (thickest part of bamboo) and then screw it on to your structure. Wood putty mixed with a little of the bamboo saw dust works well to hide the screw. A pneumatic nail gun can also be used to shoot through the nodes.

Can the Bamboo Slats come in other lengths?

We offer an industry standard of six foot in length.

 

Can the Bamboo Slats be stained?

Yes, by using a wood stain. We found that if you start out with the mahogany Bamboo Slats and stain it with the color “Jacobean” (Home Depot) it will give a rich walnut / mahogany color as shown in the picture on this page.
