  • Bamboo Slats

    Bamboo Slats are harvested from the outer skin and wall of large diameter bamboo and cut into strips along the length of the pole. Three sides of the bamboo are machine milled while the face side is left natural.

  • Faux Bamboo

    At amaZulu, we manufacturer a high quality faux bamboo, that can be used for markets like theme parks, hotels, restaurants, resorts, zoos and residential projects for a natural looking alternative to solid bamboo. Our synthetic bamboo poles have been coated with a clear automotive sealer allowing them to be used for both indoors and outdoors. Its clean and hollowed core allow for a simple solution to cover metal fence posts, roof beams and structural posts.

    Faux Bamboo should not be used for support structures or in chlorine. Our faux bamboo is also UV resistant and will be appealing all year around.

  • Solid Bamboo

    Solid bamboo poles are a unique type of bamboo because they are almost entirely solid, making them the ideal material in construction. From trellis’s and tiki bar construction to fencing and ceiling decorations, solid bamboo is extremely durable and long-lasting, and isn’t generally susceptible to splitting. Solid bamboo poles are an eco-friendly and highly renewable resource, which can help you meet any green objectives in your construction project. Unlike other bamboo,  Solid Bamboo is ideal for outdoor settings where thin walled bamboo will rot over a short period of time due to the natural elements.This thick walled bamboo can lend itself to both decorative and structural uses.

    Lightweight, durable and inexpensive, solid Bamboo comes in three variations: Natural, Sanded & Finished and Half Round or Split. Using Solid Bamboo is an affordable way to decorate or build a tropical setting indoors and outdoors. The natural form will still have a waxy outer skin with pronounced nodes where as the Sanded & Finished Solid Bamboo Pole is lightly sanded with a polyurethane finish and smooth nodes.

  • Tre-Gai Bamboo

    Tre-Gai bamboo poles are construction grade and rapidly renewable timber that have long been a material used for structural purposes, from pillars to roofs and even to flooring. In its natural form, Tre-Gai bamboo sports a rustic look and has a dense wall, which helps reduce its probability of splitting. The hollowed center provides the bamboo with strength while also adding to its light weight. If it is sanded and finished, the color deepens and the bamboo becomes much more refined. It is the only species of bamboo that has been approved by the University of Hawaii as construction grade because of its structural integrity and the fact that it is pressure treated.

    The minor investment in energy to grow and harvest bamboo poles makes this material very sustainable, and since the bamboo grows more densely than many trees, it can yield much more timber per acre. Using Tre-Gai bamboo poles in construction can help meet sustainable objectives in both commercial and residential projects, while offering a natural and versatile alternative to more traditional and less sustainable materials.
