Installation of Faux Shower Palm Tree:

The Faux Shower Palm Tree is supplied standard with:

• One fiberglass curved hollow trunk

• 25 Polyethelene leaves

• 3 Coconuts, one of which has a chrome plated shower nozzle

Customer needs to purchase a 12’ long x 1 1/2” schedule 40 steel pipe. (About $15.00 from home Depot)

Dig a hole 12” round and 12” deep. Insert 12’ steel pipe into the hole on a slight 10 degree angle. This pipe must be hammered down 3½’ into the ground allowing a minimum of 8½’ remaining above the ground. Using a piece of burlap or cloth cover the top of the steel pipe and secure with tape. This will insure a tight fir when the trunk is lowered down onto the steel pipe. Using caution do not drop the trunk, lift the trunk up over the steel pipe. Backfill the hole with dirt or concrete. About 2” from the base of the palm is a burst free stainless steel flexible pipe that has a garden hose connector at the end.

Installing The Leaves:

After the trunk is secured the leaves can be installed. Insert the leaves starting from the top and working down.  Make sure the stem is facing downwards and is inserted all the way into the stainless steel tube. Using the supplied nylon twine, the leaves must be secured from blowing out. Starting at one of the “S” hooks which is attached to the palm leaf stem, lace through each eye in a criss cross fashion, back and forth. Use the supplied natural bark to hide the twine and stainless steel tubes. This must also be tied in to prevent it from blowing away. When completed you should not see any twine or stainless steel tubes. Coconuts can be hooked onto the leaves before they are inserted.

Please note the Polynesian comes with 21 leaves but will hold up to 25.

Protecting Your Palms:

amaZulu recommends that the leaves be removed during the winter months. The top of the trunk should be completely covered to prevent water from freezing in the stainless tubes. Additional palm leaves are available if needed.
