Solid Bamboo

Solid Bamboo comes in three variations: Natural, Sanded & Finished and Half Round or Split. Using Solid Bamboo is an affordable way to decorate or build a tropical setting. The natural form will still have a waxy outer skin with pronounced nodes where as the Sanded & Finished Solid Bamboo Pole is lightly sanded with a polyurethane finish and smooth nodes.

  • Solid Bamboo has extremely dense walls which allows for minimal splitting, (if any).
  • Due to the wall thickness, this bamboo is good for indoor and outdoor applications in any climate.
  • It is a natural product, so the color varies in tans and honey.
  • The half-round Solid Bamboo is slightly flexible.


Solid Bamboo is versatile. As a Bar Front, it is very durable and withstands repeated contact without defacing or splitting. Can also be used for Wall Treatments, Curtain Rods, Trim, Battens to hold thatch and Bamboo Trellis.
  • Solid bamboo has a wall thickness that varies from 60-99% of its diameter.
  • Available in 8", 10" and 12" lengths and 1", 1.5" and 2" diameters.
  • The Sanded & Finished Solid Bamboo is lightly sanded with a polyurethane finish.

To install any bamboo, it is always best to pre-drill a hole before screwing through the bamboo. If possible, try to screw through the node (the bump) of the bamboo; it is solid inside.

No, you would need to use the natural Solid Bamboo and sand it lightly to stain.

Is the bamboo diameter the same width throughout the length of the bamboo pole?

Because bamboo is a natural product, the diameter can vary up to an inch per 10 linear feet.
