Thatch Umbrella - Synthetic
amaZulu's Thatch Umbrellas produce a cooler (approx.10 degrees) shade environment compared to canvas covers because warm air escapes through the leaves. These umbrellas are great in windy climates as the synthetic thatch panels use a clip design on the rebar to accomodate wind uplift.
Features:
- Umbrellas come in a kit format for easy installation.
- Synthetic Umbrellas are available in two styles: PALM using Viro Thatch Palm - Layered Panels and REED using Viro Thatch Reed - Layered Panels.
- Thatch produces a cooler shade (approx. 10 degrees) opposed to the canvas covers as warm air can escape through the leaves.
- There is no wind uplift with the Thatch umbrellas as the clipped panels lift on the rebar as the wind blows through.
- Umbrellas are supplied with either a wooden pole or steel pole and faux bamboo sleeve (to accommodate standard patio tables).
- There are various base plates and installations methods to accommodate sand, pavers, and concrete substrates.

FAQ: Thatch Umbrella - Synthetic
Should I be concerned about wind blowing over my Synthetic Thatch Umbrella?
The panels on the Synthetic Thatch Umbrellas lever on the rebar umbrella frame allowing for wind to escape. This enables the umbrella to be lifted up during all weather, so you never have to take the umbrella down.
I have a restaurant and would like to install the umbrellas outside, but the city says I cannot did a hole and cement the umbrella pole. How would I support the umbrella?
We have made many "umbrella boots" just for this instance. It is a steel boot that is bolted into the ground and the pole slid inside the boot. The boot is then lashed with rope and you can't even see it.
