Tre-Gai Bamboo
Tre-Gai Bamboo, in it's natural form, is a rustic looking bamboo with a dense wall. If it is sanded and finished, the color deepens and the bamboo becomes much more refined. It is the only species of bamboo that has been approved by the University of Hawaii as construction grade because of its structural integrity and the fact that it is pressure treated.

Features:
- Tre-gai bamboo has a wall thickness of 50-100% of diameter.
- The nodes are pronounced and rustic, showing a lot of character, where as they are smoothed down and less pronounced in the Sanded & Finished version.
- Being a natural product, the color varies slightly in a light tan.
- Good resistance to splitting due to the construction grade thick walls.
Tre-Bamboo is perfect for any structure that requires bamboo poles designed to withstand nailing, bolting, stapling, or screwing because of the thick walls. Roof trusses, wall treatments, and high traffic areas like bar fronts are perfect for Tre-Gai.

To install any bamboo it is always best to predrill a hole before screwing through the bamboo. If possible try screw through the node (the bump) of the bamboo, it is solid inside.
