amaZulu was proud to be part of the 2012 International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) worldwide expo held in Orlando last month. We had a wonderful time meeting old friends and making new friends while exploring exciting partnership opportunities! There is so much we can talk about – in fact, too much to cover in this Blog. So, we would like to mention a few of the highlights:
Dexter Foxworth, Director of the Zebra Coalition (www.zebrayouth.org) in Orlando, was one of the IAPPA attendees. The Zebra Coalition provides support and services to at-risk youth between the ages of 13-24. They offer a wonderful service to the community and serve as the liaison between youth and a number of other community service organizations including The Center for Drug Free Living, Inc., Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, Inc., Hope and Help Center of Central Florida, Inc. and the Orlando Youth Alliance, just to name a few. We provided materials for their exhibit and 16’ umbrellas with rolled bamboo fencing, Eucalyptus tribal fencing and a trellis for the back yard of the house they recently opened in Orlando for at-risk youth who have been kicked out of their own homes, rejected by their families and have nowhere else to go besides the streets. Dexter was gracious enough to speak a few kind words about his partnership with amaZulu. Link- Dexter-Zebra Coalition
In addition, we were pleased to have the opportunity to talk with Kodi Theirgaard, Director of Design for SplashTactular at IAAPA. SplashTacular is the largest U.S.-based waterslide manufacturer and offers design, engineering, installation and lifelong maintenance of waterslides and waterpark attractions. SplashTacular provides imaginative, custom-designed waterpark attractions to a wide range of clients, from destination resorts to waterparks, fitness centers, public and private facilities and municipalities. Kodi spoke about his experience with amaZulu, stating that our “customer service is far from some of the best that you’ll ever come across”. To view full testimonial, click here: Kodi-SplashTacular
More than 1600 companies set up booths for 9,100 attendees at the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2012. And, $94,000 was raised for Give Kids the World, a Kissimmee, FL based resort for children with life-threatening illnesses. All in all, it was a very exciting and energetic event! Want to see more?
